--Cage-Cave

The cage/cave is the shared checkout area for photo, video, audio and other technology equipment that students may need to complete assignments for their classes.

The cage is also where you would come to check out or reserve studio space.

The cage/cave is located on the ground floor directly in front of you when you get off of the 3 (silver) elevators.

7:30 am - 10:00 pm
Saturdays
7:30 am - 5pm

Equipment Checkout Guidelines
1) Equipment can be checked out over night as well as over weekends provided the proper request is submitted and approved.
2) The cage/cave has a set of policies that must be read and acknowledged (by signing an agreement) before checkout privileges will be granted.
3) The cage/cave also charges late fees for equipment that is not returned by the agreed upon date and time.

Who May Use
IDT has equipment that is only available to students in certain programs as well as equipment that is available to all students at the school.
Examples of equipment that is available to all students at the school are such things as;
1) Digital point and shoot cameras
2) Wacom graphics tablets
3) Smith-Victor flood lights
3) Light stands
Other equipment that is only available to students in particular programs is as follows.
The equipment listed below requires in class instruction and test out before a student can checkout the specific equipment listed. The class that each piece of equipment is tested out in is listed here as well (ex. VP120)

Studio spaces are used as classrooms as well. Scheduled classes have first priority to any and all studio spaces. Studios can only be reserved when no classes are scheduled and another student hasn’t already reserved the studio.
